The customer had extended her kitchen, and with the old kitchen being 15 years old and of cathedral arch style and oak effect was looking for a modern, fresh look and the 'wow' factor. The kitchen led through into the dining room and she was looking for new flooring which could be laid throughout, but did not want tiles, so a laminate or vinyl were the options. She had a fairly new built under oven and wanted to keep this for the time being, but have the option for a double built in when the time came. She was interested in a hard surface work top, but was not prepared to go to the expense of granite.
We supplied and installed the Oxford kitchen units from the K Collection, which is a shaker style door in Ivory colour. The flooring was Quickstep Livyn cream travertine, a fully waterproof uniclic vinyl floor which does not expand or scratch. The tiles selected were Metro cream, and the worktops were Bushboard Encore in cinnamon, a composite work surface that is machined and polished so there are no visible joints. To accommodate the oven we used a double oven built in housing, but used an infil to cover the space which can be removed at a later date when a new oven is required.
